WHAT WILL WE MISS THE MOST?

Well it has been a couple of days since we came back from Canada and I still cant get over how quick it had went by.   For this post, I went and asked everyone what they will miss from the trip and for myself I would say that I miss learning more about the country and the people that live there while being there. I will also miss the activities we booked as I feel like it helped with forming friendships not just within the group but with others as well.   For the other people who were in the group, their response to the question ‘what they will miss the most’ was:   “What I will miss about Canada is everyone who was on the trip! It was great to get to know so many new people and see all the students learning and growing. A great privilege to be there to support you all.   I will also miss the black squirrels. Who knew about them before we went over?!”   (Lisa Riddell, Staff member at borders college)   “I think one thing I’ll definitely miss from being in Cana

NIAGARA FALLS

Today, the group was given the opportunity to go to Niagara Falls for the day. We were really excited and the night before, we were given tips and guidelines that we needed to follow when there. For today we were asked to wake at 7 in the morning as the bus left at quarter to 8 in the morning.   Once at the bus station, we were on the road and the first stop we made a couple of stops to look at the views.   Before we were at the destination, we were given a chance to go up a building to see the place up top and the view was amazing.   Once done with the building, we were then finally at Niagara Falls, we were immediately went to the section where the operated the boats. Once there we had to find a place to stand and for the next 20 minutes, we travel to and back on the water. The sight up close was amazing and I could honestly spend the rest of the day just looking at it. Once we were done, we were then given the chance to explore for a while before heading back o

CENTENNIAL COLLEGE

Well today is the first day we are to stay within the centennial college. We all needed to make sure we were packed, up and ready by 11 o’clock in the morning.   By 12 we reached the campus and were introduced to both staff members and students there and were given our room key cards to place our stuff away.   Once everything was sorted, we went back near the reception area and were given a tour around the campus.   They showed us around the main building and where the sections of education where, along with the shops, library and even places that can offer help and services to us.   Its amazing how big this place is and it seems to have everything such as gyms, library, theatre and game rooms as well.   Once done with the tour, we all went shopping for supplies of food and cutlery before the end of the day.

BLUE JAYS GAME

After we had visited the Cn Tower, our next activity for the first official day in Toronto was to go and experience a Blue jay baseball game.   I never been to a stadium for any type of sports before so this was the first I experienced watching a game live.   The way I would describe the atmosphere would be to use the word energetic as everywhere you look people were clapping, shouting and cheering. We even saw some people dancing on the screen which was fun.   It was such a fun experience and even got me into the spirit of the game, despite not knowing the rules and terms for the game, and at the end of the game, the Blue jays won which made that experience even more fun.

CN TOWER

For one of the activities we have booked a tour of the CN tower.   Even when landing the plane, the tower was one of the first building we noticed, which proved to us exactly how tall it was.   When we entered, we first needed to let the people who worked their search our bags, to make sure we didn’t have anything that wasn’t allowed.   After that we were then directed to the elevator to go up to the top of the building. Once up to the top we immediately headed straight to the window and the view was amazing.   The amount of buildings and landscape we were able to see was amazing, and there was even a place where it had strong glass on the ground to let you see the bottom of the ground. To say I was scared would have been an understatement so while walking on it, I tried to keep looking up but even then the experience was fun. All in all it was a good activity to do for our first day

AND WE ARE OFF...

AND WE ARE OFF... I cant believe today is the day that we are flying over to Canada. We all needed to be up and ready really early in the morning and once we were near the Campus, we began making our way to the airport. Once there we first needed to go through security and sorting out our bags but once done with that we were then given some time to look around before we needed to catch our plane. I still couldn’t get over the fact that we were given the chance to go, it made me both excited to see a new place but also a bit nervous as well. Once a couple of hours were over we then met with everyone else and began heading towards the plane to properly start our trip. After the 6 hour flight we then landed in Canada which was so exciting and once we got sorted with our luggage, we then began heading to the place we will be staying at for the next couple of days. Even though its only been one day, I could tell we were going to have a blast these

ONE DAY TO GO

ONE DAY TO GO Well its only one day left until we leave, and Ill be honest and say that im really excited for this but also still nervous.   What im excited about is the new adventure of a different place and understanding new lifestyles and cultures. What im nervous about is getting lost or forgetting something 😅   From the past couple of days we had a zoom meeting with the people who work at the college over in Canada, who gave us a brief introduction to Canada and what to expect.   We even had a last meeting to discuss the final number of saving we have achieved through the activities we have created and was pretty impressed and amazed with the results. We also went over the plan for the day of the departure where at 5:45 am we all need to meet near borders college and leave to Manchester at 6 am.   They even double checked our suitcase status, which I am confident to say that mine are packed finally. For these next two weeks, I have a feeling it will be the
